Papaveraceae: Eschscholzia glyptosperma (Desert Golden Poppy)

Eschscholzia glyptosperma is reported from Joshua Tree National Park. Unlike E. parishii, is has basal leaves and leafless flower stalks. This specimen was photographed in the Mojave Desert near Baker in San Bernardino County. It has not been reported from San Diego County.

Onagraceae: Camissonia brevipes ssp. brevipes (Golden Sun Cup)


Onagraceae: Camissonia boothii ssp. condensata (Bottle Cleaner)

The curious common name for this species is derived from its dried stem bearing a persistent cluster of 4-pronged seed capsules. Another common name is Booth's desert primrose.
