Views Of Mt. Denali (Mt. Mckinley)

Mt. Denali (also known as Mt. Mckinley) is the highest mountain peak in North America, rising
20,320 feet (6,194 m) above sea level. Although the summit of Mt. Everest is 29,028 feet, it rises
about 12,000 feet above the Tibetan Plateau.  Mt. Denali actually has a greater relief than Mt.
Everest because it rises about 18,000 feet above the surrounding plateau. The volcano Mauna
Loa on the island of Hawaii rises 13,680 feet above sea level; however, if you measure it from
the ocean floor it rises over 30,000 feet. Thus, it has a greater relief than Mt. Everest.
