Elaine and Father Serra at Mission San Antonio northwest of Jolon in Monterery County. This is one of the most interesting of all the California missions because all the tools and artifacts are intact, just as they were in the 1800s. The pristine status of this mission is probably related to its location on the Hunter Liggett Military Reservation, with armed guards at the entrance gates.
