German-ivy (Senecio mikanioides) at Moro Rock in San Luis Obispo County.

Senecio mikanioides is a South African perennial vine naturalized on the north side of Moro Rock in San Luis Obispo County. This is one of the largest genera of flowering plants with more than 2,000 species distributed throughout the world. There are at least 50 species and varieties in California alone. It includes annual and perennial herbs, climbing vines, shrubs, and xerophytes with fleshy (succulent) leaves and stems.
