This 90 pound "Big Mac" pumpkin (Cucurbita maxima) weighs more than the girl named Sarah in photo. The multicolored turban gourd (lower center) is also a variety of C. maxima. The smaller pumpkins and ornamental gourds are varieties of C. pepo. The tarantula in photo does not belong to the Gourd Family.

This large, multicolored turban gourd or turban squash (Cucurbita maxima) belongs to the same species as the giant "Big Mac" pumpkins seen at Halloween time. The warted ornamental gourd is a variety of C. pepo along with regular pumpkins and summer squash.
