Oyster Shell Scale In Apple Orchard Near Flathead Lake Each oyster shell scale resembles a miniature oyster. Under each protective scale are tiny white eggs. 2. Duckweeds At Pond At NinePipe Wildlife Refuge This pond in the NinePipe Wildlife Refuge contains 5 species of duckweeds (subfamily Lemnoideae). In the distance is Montana's beatiful Mission Range. Five species of duckweeds (subfamily Lemnoideae): Lemna turionifera, L. trisulca (submersed and not shown), Spirodela polyrrhiza, Wolffia columbiana and W. borealis. 3.
