Asteraceae: Calycoseris parryi (Yellow Tackstem)

The dark, gland-tipped hairs (trichomes) on the stem of Calycoseris parryi resemble minute black tacks. The glistening trichomes on Calycoseris wrightii resemble minute translucent tacks. Compare the black trichomes of C. parryi with the following two images of C. wrightii photographed in Smoke Tree Wash and Travertine Palms Wash.
