Massive Rock Formations

This remarkable landscape dates back more than 100 million years. It is formed by molten plutonic rock from deep below the earth's surface. It is a type of granitic rock called monzogranite. A favorite place for rock-climbers, it is also home of the beautiful granite spiny lizard (See Part 6: Animal Images).
